Accreditation

About Accreditation

Continuum have extensive experience of designing and delivering bespoke management development programmes from ’Management Essentials’ through to ‘Visionary Leaders’ for first line, middle and senior managers.  We work with strategic partners to provide nationally recognized accreditation for these programmes  at Award, Certificate and Diploma levels.

These qualifications called VRQs (Vocationally Related Qualifications) sit mid-way between NVQs (where the qualification relies on evidence of “what you do”) and academic higher education courses, where the emphasis is on the academic learning.   Essentially VRQs combine some academic knowledge input and some application of that knowledge in the workplace.

Regardless of how the knowledge transfer part of the course is done, in order to achieve a qualification delegates must complete a number of written work-based assignments. Typically these are 2,500 word business reports written using a guiding “brief” in the format:  “show that you understand relevant theory – apply it – write about what happened – reflect on the results”.

Awarding Bodies

The UK awarding bodies for VRQs that Continuum work with include: BTEC (Edexcel), CMI (Chartered Management Institute) and ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management).

Working with their strategic partners Continuum provide expert advice on which awarding body to use, depending upon the clients specific requirements, as well as offering guidance and support through the accreditation process.
