Our Approach

Our approach to coaching is straightforward, powerful and effective. We take our experience in non directive mediatation, combine it with consulting challenge and analysis to create a system which helps the coachee understand their potential in order to help them maximise their performance.

The starting point is an initial consultation between the individual and the coach to ascertain if both parties feel comfortable working together and to establish the focus and desired outcomes from the coaching.  Often the coachee’s manager is involved at this stage to ensure that the coaching is focussed on application in the workplace.

We can use a range of techniques to raise self-awareness often including questionnaires, video logs as well as 360-degree feedback exercises. This ensures the coachee can really understand their impact on others and begin to build strategies for change.

The aim is to encourage the individual to take stock of their situation exploring their thoughts, feelings and behaviour with a view to identifying the areas they need to address and change.

The coach acts as a non-judgemental, professional catalyst towards the individual making the necessary changes, helping them to set new goals, build confidence and self-esteem, putting them back in control of their situation and direction.

This is a highly confidential service delivered by an experienced coach who is likely to use concepts such as Emotional Intelligence, NLP and Transactional Analysis to help the individual move towards their desired outcomes. The one to one sessions, lasting around 2 hours, usually taking place during normal business hours. We tend to agree an initial project of six sessions, aiming to deliver some change within that period.

We usually construct an agreement with each person based on the objectives and aspirations of the sponsor as well as the person taking part in the coaching – this ensures that the coaching is focussed on application in the workplace, rather than being simply the personal enhancement of the individual.
